Pregnancy is one of the most remarkable transformations the human body can undergo. While many expectant mothers notice the scale rising, it’s important to understand that every pound gained serves a precise and vital purpose Far from being “extra weight,” pregnancy weight gain is the body’s masterful engineering to nurture new life.
The Baby: About 7 Pounds
At the heart of this transformation is the baby typically weighing around seven pounds at birth. During gestation, the fetus is meticulously forming every organ, limb, and system from the beating heart to the developing brain.
